I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
